Inclusion.....
Wikipedia - Inclusion is a sense of belonging: feeling respected, valued for who you are...
Watching Siddanth (my son) in action , i understand more the real meaning of 'inclusion'.
Recently he started saying a hurray equivalent (in hindi - Jai) to every one around him.. example - papa jai, mamma jai... etc
i am amazed that in calling out the names and saying jai (hurray) to them, he ensure that he mentions every single person in the family and his close interaction groups in his list of jai.
For instance both his grandparents, cousins, maids, his best friend - Tvisha (refers to her as Piya), the name of his school, .. etc .
No one taught him this, but he does it relentlessly, each time - every time
Yesterday, i was handing my mother some money. I asked Siddanth to give it to her (thought it could be an interesting game). After he completed the transaction with my mother - he asked me - Bhaaga ? (referring to my maid - Bhagya who was standing next to my mother, looking at this !)
A few weeks back when we were getting our house painted, we offered the tired painters some food and tea, suddenly out of no where, Siddanth shifted from the dining table (where he was eating), sat amongst the painters - and continued eating.
It was a quiet, small gesture yet so profound
We have so much to learn from children...
They are constantly mirroring to us what really makes us human !
