Enjoying their Diwali moment.
This year (big thanks to their school) they have not demanded any crackers
These were the reasons -
1. We don't want to pollute the environment
2. Animals (Dogs & Birds) get disturbed with the noise
3. Kids can get badly injured
I added the story of the kids (child labour) in Sivakasi making these crackers ! To them it was a story of unfairness !
I am happy as a parent.
Lets say a big hurray to all those kids.
Those who are ok not to follow the crowd.
Lets appreciate the kids who care.
Do remember to give them an extra dose of love (& home made sweets!)

Thanks,Jaya for both the insertions- kids who have stopped bursting crackers and the Sivakashi Child labourers. It is very heartening to see the environmental concerns of kids put a lot of adults to shame. lots to learn from them only if we are willing. My neighbour , a Sr. Manager at IBM and 45years + proudly conveyed that he would burst crackers and make a lot of sound even though his teen son and daughter disapproves of it. AND WE TALK ILL OF GEN Y/Z.
